PREVENTIVE CARE

The annual vaccination is the perfect opportunity to have your pet examined by a veterinarian. I always perform a thorough health check before administering the vaccination to detect any underlying issues early. Additionally, parasite treatments can be discussed or provided. Nutritional advice and senior pet check-ups are also part of preventive care.

CONSULTATION

I will visit your home to examine your pet and provide advice on any concerns or health issues. Most common conditions, such as urinary tract infections, ear infections, skin problems, or gastrointestinal issues, can be effectively treated at home, eliminating the need for a clinic visit.

Sometimes, it becomes time to say goodbye to your beloved pet when their suffering is no longer manageable, or their quality of life has significantly declined. This farewell is best experienced in the comfort of home, allowing your pet to pass peacefully in a familiar and loving environment.

I understand how difficult this moment can be and offer compassionate and dignified in-home euthanasia, ensuring a calm and respectful farewell. With care and empathy, I guide you through this difficult decision, always prioritizing your pet’s well-being while minimizing stress for both the animal and the owner.

Making the decision for euthanasia is never easy, and it is essential to ensure that it is truly the best option. That is why I take a thorough and considerate approach. If your pet is not yet known to me, I may ask you to have your veterinarian send me your pet’s medical records. This allows us to carefully discuss and determine whether euthanasia is the most appropriate choice.

Why Choose a Home Visit Veterinarian?

Less Stress for Your Pet
Your pet remains in its familiar environment, which is especially beneficial for animals sensitive to stress. Home visits eliminate the anxiety caused by travel, unfamiliar smells, and encounters with other animals in a waiting room.

Convenience for the Owner
A home visit saves time and effort - no need to travel to a clinic. This is ideal for people with busy schedules, multiple pets, or those who have difficulty transporting their animals. Additionally, at Vet2You, I offer flexible appointment times, including evenings (till 23:00) and weekends, so you can schedule a visit at your convenience.

Personalized Attention
Because consultations take place in your home, I can dedicate more time to both you and your pet. This allows for a more relaxed, personalized approach and tailored care that meets your pet’s specific needs.

Limitations of a Home Visit Veterinarian

Limited Facilities
Not all diagnostic equipment or treatments are available during a home visit. For more complex conditions, a visit to a veterinary clinic may be necessary. For example, it is not possible to take X-rays, perform surgeries, or carry out dental procedures at home. If your pet requires these, I will refer you to a suitable clinic.

Emergency Situations
For life-threatening emergencies, immediate intensive care may be required, which is best provided at a fully equipped veterinary clinic. If your pet is in a critical condition, you should contact an emergency veterinary clinic as soon as possible.

Your Pet Feels at Home
While most animals benefit from being in their familiar environment, some may be more difficult to examine at home because they feel safe and in control. For example, anxious or difficult-to-handle cats might be more cooperative in a clinic setting, where they are out of their comfort zone. If your pet is not easy to handle, please let me know when scheduling an appointment so we can discuss the best approach.

No Veterinary Assistant
During a home visit, I do not have an assistant to help with procedures. This means that you may need to help restrain your pet if necessary. If additional assistance is required, we can discuss the best solution together.
